These vehicles have alot of problems with the cooling fan clutch and wiring which sets this code, that is the most likely cause. Inspect for broken wires in the harness near the fan clutch. Replace the harness, If wiring is OK, check for 5 volts on the Gray wire from the Powertrain Control Module. If the voltage is low, check circuit for a break or short to ground.   • Cooling fan clutch connector is damaged (check pins for damage, moisture)
  • Cooling fan speed sensor signal circuit is open, shorted to ground or voltage
  • Cooling fan speed sensor reference (5v) circuit is open or shorted to ground
