2003 Chevy Trailblazer: steering column pin that had to be replace

Customer Question

My 2003 Chevy Trailblazer makes a noise when making steering turns. I had a 2003 Impala that made a similar noise with the steering column pin that had to be replace. At the time, Chevy had over a million on back order I had to wait months for the part to arrive to the GM dealer. What do you know about this steering pin problem??

Hello I will help you with your question,

Is this a clunking noise when you turn the steering wheel and it feels as if it is comming from the bottom of the steering column? Or is it a rubbing, squeeking noise?

Let me know and I will help you determine the fix

Thank you

The noise is a squelling sound made when you start to turn left or right and stops when you straighen out the steering.

Does the squeeling seem to be comming from the column or is it from the engine area?
