how do i close the sunroof manually on a 2000 monte carlo

Hello, and welcome, if you have a sunrrof that is NOT operating, the only way you will be able to manually close the glass, is to remove the motor, then push the glass to the closed position. the motor is above the headliner towards the front windshield. you can usually get enough room to remove by, removing the lace molding around the sunroof opening on the inside of vehicle. this is the molding that goes around the headliner. it just pulls off. once you remove this molding, you can pull down on the headliner and unbolt the sunroof motor.

removed the motor and sunroof will still not close
Ok, that is a problem. that means that either one of the cables or sunroof track is froze up. unfortually the entire sunroof assembly will have to be removed. the cables and tracks are not service seperatly. the cables and track is replaced as a assembly.
