96 GMC: 4wd..a check engine light p300 multiple misfires..cap..rotor

Customer Question

I have a 96 GMC sierra 4wd 1500 5.7L. got a check engine light p0300 multiple misfires. replaced cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and ignition coil. After I was able to erase the code but when in drive still shakes and missing. In park and neutral feels and sounds like running on all eight. Any ideas where to go next?

Hi, how are you? I have seen a few of these with injectors that stick closed. They are a popit style injector that uses pressure to open and sometimes they stick. I would perform an injector flush to start. Especially if you have high mileage on the vehicle. Have you performed a compression check on all cylinders?
