1999 chevy lumina: service engine..check engine..engine oil..fluids

This answer was rated:

my 1999 chevi lumina the service engine-low coolant- check engine oil lights are all on fluids are all ok
So is it just the low coolant light that is on? If the coolant level is okay, there is a low coolant sensor that may be the problem. It is either in the reservoir near the passenger side fender, it has a plug with 2 wires on it. Or it can be the style that is mounted in the radiator itself. I will be black and square and have a plug with 2 wires in it also. Which ever one you have try unplugging it and start the vehicle and see if light goes out. Let me know. Thanks Eric

sorry I should of explained it different when I start the car the service engine soon light stays on /the low coolant light stays on /the change engine oil light is on I think that was on before this all started ....I checked all the fluids and they are ok..
Okay got ya! lol, Lets try to address each issue, First the change oil light. It comes on reminding you it been approx 3000 miles since you changed the oil. Thats 3000 miles from the last time it was reset. So if it is not being reset at each oil change then it just may be its time to come on. So try resetting it to see if we eliminate that light on the dash. Here is how.

To reset the engine oil life monitor:

  1. Turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine.
  2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds.

If the CHG OIL SOON indicator flashes two times, the system is resetting, repeat the procedure.

  3. Turn the key to OFF, then start the vehicle. If the CHG OIL SOON light comes back on, the system has not reset. See if the light is out. It can be tricky so try it a couple times if it doesnt work the first try. Okay the low coolant light, try what i mentioned earlier about unplugging it, and let me know if the light is out with it unplugged. The check engine light will need a scan tool to read what trouble code has been stored. Alot of information with scan tool. So let me know what you find, ill be here. Thanks Eric
