2000 Suburban - The AC/ Heater sticks on heat when the control knob is turned to anything other than cold. The only way to get it back to cold air is to turn the vehicle off and wait. Help please.

Your most likely having a problem with the blend door actuator.
That's an electric motor that controls an air door.

Here are the instructions to replace it.

Thanks for the replay. I was able to work on the vehicle last night and noticed that it has two actuators. One is for inside and outside air shown above. This one is operating okay. There is another actuator below the duct work. I had to remove the cover near the floor to get to it. It will operate okay from cold to hot, but has problems going back to a cold setting. I put my finger on the shaft to indicate when it was moving.
