Your ABS light comes on when either a component or sensor in the ABS system sends a fault code to the computer. The mechanical part of your brake system, ie-pads, rotors, calipers, drums, shoes, etc. - do not affect the ABS light. To find the problem your computer needs to be read with a diagnostic scanner. Autozone, among other auto parts stores will do this for free. They will give you the code that is showing and what part it relates to. At that point you can repair. The usual problem is a faulty wheel speed sensor, but to make sure have the computer read for codes.
