It is located under the water outlet housing that the upper radiator hose attaches to on the engine intake manifold. You remove the housing by removing the 2 bolts that hold it down.To get the thermostat out of there you have to ,remove the air dust from the throttle body ,then remove both brackests from the front of the body noteing where the stud was and how the brackets are placed,You can leave the cable on the brakect-just position it out of the way.The thermostat has a rubber o'ring seal on it,just use a razor to scrape any old material from the surfaces and reasseble-spring on the thermosts down.Notice,I did not tell you to drain the coolant-you will loose about 1/2 gallon on the engine that you can rinse off with water and this way you just top off the level and dont have to bleed the system. You wind up loosing that much or more if you try to drain it.
