i interrupted an update on my iphone 6 plus
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: iphone 6 plus. its a few months old
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: i have my phone connected to my computer now. it just prompts me to connect to itunes
JA: Anything else you want the phone expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: i want to know instructions on how to restore. i have everything backed up already

  1. Turn Off your iPhone if it is not already.
    1. Press and hold down the On/Off button on the right side (iPhone 6 or later) or top for 3 seconds.
    2. Swipe the slide to power off confirmation slider to the right.

  2. Press and hold down the Home button on your iPhone while holding it:
  3. Plug your iPhone into the computer and make sure iTunes is running.
  4. Release the Home button when you see the Connect to iTunes screen.

At this point iTunes should display an alert saying it's detected an iPhone in recovery mode, and will let you restore your device.
