Hi, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially, bear with us; re-confirm and post back with the complete model number of the phone.

iPhone 5s
Expert:  Louie replied 11 months ago.

Appreciate the additional information.

Proposed preliminary tries (if have not been done):

  • • plug in a known to be good charger and allow the phone to charge for at least 30 minutes;
  • • use iTunes to attempt a restoration of the phone;
  • • consider a recovery as a last resort as it would erase all the data in the phone.

Please post back results / observations of the above once tried.

What is recovery? What are the steps for recovery
Expert:  Louie replied 11 months ago.

Would you be comfortable forcing the iPhone 5S into Recovery Mode ?

Expert:  Louie replied 11 months ago.

If yes, please be aware: Recovery mode would DELETE all the data on the phone. Consider if and only if a recent back up on iCloud or a computer has been made.

  • plug the USB cable into a running computer;
  • but not into the phone;
  • press & hold down the Home button;
  • while still pressing/holding on the Home button, plug the other end of the USB cable into the device;
  • when the Connect to iTunes screen is displayed, release the Home button;
  • if the screen is not shown, repeat steps 1 to 3.

May have to be done a number of times.
