Sorry to hear of the incident with your phone.
May I ask:
1) The Model of your phone?
2) The AGE of the phone?
3) If you have ANY kind of "protection plan" for the phone?
I only ask because it is possible that there can be internal damage that can not be seen from the outside, that would keep the phone from operating. If you are handy and can get the case open, you MAY be able to find a loose cable or other part - that can be reconnected and allow the unit to function properly.
But if you do have some kind of protection plan (often called "drop & spill" protection), you may be able to get the device replaced at little or no cost. These plans are usually available at the time and place of purchase - for just a small extra cost, and can be "worth the price" for incidents just like this one.
