Please follow these steps:

  1. Remove the back cover by pulling apart at the notch located on the bottom edge of the phone.
  2. Remove the battery by lifting it out of the compartment.
  3. Then while the battery is out press the power button for 20 seconds,
  4. Then reinsert the battery.
  5. Align the golden contacts on the battery with the golden contacts in the battery compartment.
  6. Press the battery into place.
  7. Replace the back cover.
  8. Then press the power button for 20 seconds.
  9. Let me know if that works please.

If that fails try this next please>

  1. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time:
    • Volume Up key
    • Home key
    • Power key
  2. When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and theHome key.
  3. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  4. Press the Volume Down key to highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
  5. Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
  6. With 'reboot system now' highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.

No, neither worked as far as freezing the screen. Now after doing second option, I have reset phone AND lost all data and still never response with the "start" for resetting g the phone
