Customer: I brought my cat to the vet about her eye. They gave her an eye drop and an antibiotic. They said that she has an eye infection.
They also did some blood work and ruled out liver issues (I don't remember what it was called, but it sounded bad. She's been taking the meds since Wednesday night and seems to be feeling better, but noww her eye looks like this. It's not cloudy anymore, but it's much darker than the other. Could this be related to the eye infection?

Hi I'm Dr. Kerry and I'll try to help you with your cat today. It's hard to tell for sure from your picture but I can see that one of her eyes is darker than the other. She does not seem to be squinting at all. Is there any drainage from the eye? Does it look red at all? Sometimes cloudiness inside the eye can cause the eye to look darker, but that's difficult to tell from a photo.

How old is your kitty? Any other symptoms?

Customer
She is a year and a month old. She has no other symptoms, no drainage, no redness, and she's not acting any different. The only thing is the darkness.
Customer
She was prescribed an eye drop and an antibiotic last Wednesday for an eye infection. Her eye was noticeably cloudy at that time. My boyfriend thinks that I just caught the eye infection very early but I just want to make sure she's taken care of as much as necessary.
Customer
She does seem to be feeling better since she started the eye drops. She hid under my bed for 2 days before she started taking them.
I’m glad that she’s feeling better. Since the appearance of the eye has not returned to normal, it would be good to take her back for a recheck. She may have ongoing inflammation inside the eye even though on the outside it looks better. In that case, other oral medication may be needed in addition to the drops.
How is your cat’s eye looking today? Any change to the appearance or new symptoms?
Customer
It's not quite as dark. Still quite a bit darker than the other one. No new symptoms.
That’s good if the color is improving. Maybe the inflammation is clearing up. If you don’t see continued improvement in the next several days, I recommend a recheck exam.
Please let me know if you need any more help on this. You should be able to send another photo if you need to. Thank you for using JustAnswer!
Customer
Thank you. I went ahead and set up an appointment for a recheck on Monday.
