Greetings! This is Dr. Jeff. So sorry to hear about Adonis' issue.

What you are describing is most likely a bite wound abscess that has developed secondary to a catfight wound. This abscess should be lanced before it ruptures as a ruptured abscess presents a large wound. Antibiotics then can help resolve the infection.

If the abscess ruptures before it can be lanced, then, along with the antibiotics, the most important treatment is to keep the wound OPEN AND DRAINING for 3-4 days. Do NOT let the ruptured hole "seal up" if possible. Use warm compresses of an old washcloth or folded paper towel with warm water to keep the abscess open and draining, applying gentle pressure for 30 seconds twice daily to help squeeze out the pus.

The wound then should heal from the "inside out" like a bad burn. If the abscess reforms into a bubble again in the next few days, it will need to be re-lanced to establish drainage again. Hope this helps.

Salutations! I hope you found this answer to be of some assistance. Enjoy the rest of your day.
