Ok

I need to clarify the following to help me understand further.

  1. Is there any sign of a wound?
  2. Any discharge at all or odor?
  3. Could you send an image?

the ear inside is puffed up

Och yes I see that.

That is normal if they have a sore ear and if there is a wound and its swelling, then it does indicate its infected. The swelling will also likely be due to the trauma to the ear caused by whatever caused the wound.

It will quite likely need an antibiotic from the vet but in the mean time if you get warm saline and clean the ear that will help with the infection

If you can also place warm compresses over/around the ear that will help to ease some of the inflammation and the discomfort and the heat and salt can also help to draw some of the infection out

If this doesnt help though, he will need to go to the vet unfortunately and get some antibiotics to clear it up for him.

I hope the information was helpful to you and that Cafe's ear swelling begins to subside quickly for him

I am online for another 6 hours if you need anything else.

I trust that everything has now been answered to your satisfaction. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to get back to me on JustAnswer. In the meantime, I wish you all the best.
