I will not abandon you or leave this conversation.
Any pre-existing medical conditions, or is Noodle on any medication?
Great! Is Noodle strictly indoors?
Thank you for that information. Is Noodle lethargic?
Okay. Did Noodle get into anything or eat something out of the ordinary?
Thank you for that explanation. Does Noodle have any other symptoms besides vomiting?
Thank you for answering my questions. Please give me a moment to type your answer.
I understand. Thank you for that explanation.
I am sorry, Noodle is vomiting. I am sure this must be a concern for you. Many different medical conditions can cause vomiting. Common causes are dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, the ingestion of a foreign body, an infection, etc. to name a few causes. Unfortunately, you are somewhat limited in what you can do at home; I am sorry. I recommend having Noodle seen by a veterinarian for a hands-on examination and testing to determine the underlying cause. Treatment for Noodle will be based on examination and test results. In the meantime, this is what you can do:
1- Do not give things like Pepto Bismol or Imodium. Start him on Pepcid AC (famotidine) 10mg 1/4 tablet every 12 hours for 2-3 days. You can buy Pepcid AC over the counter in any pharmacy.
2- No food or water for 3-4 hours. It is best to give his gastrointestinal tract time to rest.
3- After 3-4 hours, give him a small amount of water. Wait for a half-hour; if there is no vomiting, he can continue to have water. Leave him without food for 12 hours, then feed him a small amount of rice (25%) mixed with boiled boneless chicken or ground beef (75%) 4-6 times a day. Keep on this diet for several days, then wean into his regular diet.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
