Hello, I am Dr. Paul. Thanks for connecting with Just Answer.
Please know that I am unable to tell how long you have been waiting for a response – I am sorry if it has been awhile. There are many of us on the site at various times. When I log on, I try to work from the bottom of the list as well as scan for any serious emergency requests and respond to those as soon as I see them.
Poor Turdash! Regardless of the underlying cause (infection, toxin exposure, heart or lung disease, etc.), respiratory problems in cats are always an emergency, as cats are obligate nose-breathers. Turdash needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible. The vet will assess his respiration and take a chest x-ray. Depending on what is seen on the x-ray, Turdash will given appropriate medication to and placed in a cage supplied with supplemental oxygen. This will allow him to breathe easier while the medication takes effect. Once Turdash is breathing better, the vet will take bloodwork to further assess what may be making him so sick.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Best of luck with Turdash! Thanks again for connecting with Just Answer.
