Cat. Male. Domestic short hair. 10 yrs old. About a week ago
About a week ago it looked like he had scratched the outer flap of his ear. Didn't look concerning, wasn't bleeding, so I just Left it alone and kept an eye on him. but over the weekend it went from “nothing” to “something”. Both ears were showing scabby red spots, still just on the outer edges and the flaps. And he seemed to be scratching more. Okay, so I made plans to take him in today. Except today I woke up, checked his ears, and they look significantly better. Scabbed over but absolutely no redness or irritation. He clearly didn't scratch or mess with his ears overnight. So now I'm stumped. Bring him in today? Or wait it out a day and see if they continue to heal? Regardless, he hasn't been showing any signs of pain. The scratching was just over the weekend. He's not acting any different overall … read more
