I just adopted two mall. I just adopted two male kittens
I just adopted two male kittens from two different litters. That is, my parents bought them for me as a gift for graduation. One's name is ***** ***** is a 7 week old fluffy black kitten that was bought in the morning from last Sunday, and the other one is Kyo, a 14 week old orange short haired tabby who was bought on the same day at night. He was found on craigslist by my parents and the website (the owners) stated that he was 7 weeks too (obviously the owner lied). We took him to the vet as he had also turned out to have a respiratory infection, which his owners never warned us about as well as being unvaccinated, and that's when we found out his real age by the vet who checked him. He also does not seem interested in getting along with Salem, he hisses and growls at him he did so the first time they met. I'm not sure if it's because he was from a different litter, or because he is much older and therefore can't truly bond with Salem. Salem tries to play with him, and for a moment it looks as if Kyo does too, but still hisses and growls at him and sometimes even ignores him. He doesn't attack him, though; which I am grateful about. I have to separate the two in two different rooms since Kyo is contagious and can make Salem sick. So I can't even make any techniques to bond them. On top of that, the living situation doesn't help, I still live with my parents because I can't afford a house yet, and it's a full house, a two story family home, I live in. My brother and sister still live here also for the same reason and to make things more difficult my sister has two huskies that don't know their own strength around smaller animals, so we have to keep them away from the cats. The huskies are downstairs while the kittens stay upstairs, we don't let them go downstairs at all, but they constantly try to. Salem has to stay with my parents or brother and Kyo stays with me so I can give him his medication and make sure he gets better. But the whole situation is just making me feel stressful, disappointed and even guilty due to the fact that I wanted two cats so they can play together and not be alone when I'm gone to work or at a trip, etc. And my parents paid for both of them for me and I have said constantly I wanted cats, although I was willing to wait for them. But Kyo might not like Salem, and maybe never will which is what I am worried about, and I feel that so far I can't keep up with them, they want to explore downstairs so badly but I can't let them. I've thought about rehoming them because I feel like I was not ready to have a cat, let alone two cats who just won't get along. But I already love them and don't want to get rid of them. I still that things can work out if I just no what exactly to do. So what do I do? Should I not worry about Salem and Kyo's relationship right now? Will they ever get along? What am I suppose to do about their living situation? I don't want to get rid of them. Please help. … read more

My cat has been acting strange. I recently adopted this 3
I recently adopted this 3 month old kitten a little over 2 weeks ago. He was a playful goofball and very outgoing. He had a fall 3 days ago. I took him to the vet and they gave me medication for him. Yesterday I was going to my parents house so I decided to take him with me so I can keep an eye on him (this isn't the first time I take him there). My parents have a 4 year old cat that faced my kitten for the first time yesterday and kept hissing and growling at him. He was acting fine before all this (playing, eating, using the litterbox) … read more
