My fourteen and a half year old female cat, Randi, was diagnosed (after an X-ray and an ultrasound) as having a dead kidney which is tentatively scheduled to be surgically removed this coming ‘Monday. I have no medical training whatsoever, but after having done some research, I am more confused than ever. Her current symptoms include elevated heart rate, decreased appetite, abnormal kidney values, and slow but steady weight loss. I love my cats like that are my children and want to do what's best for them. In this case, what would you recommend? I would really appreciate your opinion. Thank you. … read more
