Hi I have a...

Hi I have a kitty, I'm not sure how old she is. She hasn't been acting the same, she's losing weight. She just lays there in one spot and in the same position. Doesn't even eat. She use to get sick but haven't seen her get sick lately.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. Could be a lot of things that cause lethargy. The Expert will know how to help the kitten. What is the kitten's name?

Her name is Gypsy.

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Gypsy?

We tried giving her some prosense dewormer solutions and it didn't help she threw it up.

How long have you had Gypsy? Was she a young cat when you found her?

Has she had any lab work ever at your regular veterinarian to check for issues with her liver or pancreas or kidneys?

Chronic vomiting in cats can be from one of the above organs failing.

If she is an older cat we may be dealing with kidney failure. Symptoms include drinking a lot of water and urinating in the beginning then as the failure worsens these cats stop eating due to the toxins building up in their bloodstream.

I am also really worried about Gypsy because cats that stop eating can develop a severe condition called fatty liver or hepatic lipidosis which is really difficult to treat and can get expensive.
