Customer Question
A rubber band was...

A rubber band was left on my cat for at least the whole night. And now his paw is very big. I took the rubber band off but I don’t know if I should let take him to the vet or if I could just do something at home to help.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. What is the matter with your cat?

He seems like he’s in pain. And his paw is very big.

Veterinarian's Assistant: What is the cat's name and age?

His name is ***** ***** he’s about one year old

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Nick?

I don’t think so

Hi

Dr. Paul Brazzell here

If you have removed the rubber band then the lymphatics will start to drain again and the swelling will go down very very fast

You can give ONE dose of Aspirin ta 10.0 mg/kg now

I would suspect that the paw/leg will look almost normal by tonight

Okay?
Paul
