Customer Question
My 15 year old...

My 15 year old cat was diagnosed about a year ago with possibly lymphoma- by ultrasound but we didn't go any further with testing. He has been on prednisolone- i pill a day for the past year. He occasionally has boughts of lack of appetite and vomiting a little but then has long stretches of being OK. Today I found that he had vomited what i think is bloody mucus. And he didn't eat yet today- not sure if I should wait or take hm to the vet right away.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. Hopefully it didn't make a mess. Did the cat eat anything unusual?

No- he's an indoor cat and there was very little

Veterinarian's Assistant: What is the cat's name?

Rox

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Rox?

Not really. i was not convinced it was lymphoma and thought because of his past behavior that he could have IBD- but either way the vet said he would be treated the same.

I am sorry to hear you are concerned about Rox.

IBD and intestinal lymphoma can cause similar symptoms and are probably related conditions. How much prednisolone does he get; how many mg are your pills that you give him?

I am always worried about a cat that is not eating, so if he does not eat soon, I would take him to your veterinarian. Is he at least drinking?

If you lift his lip to check his gums, do they look pink?

How is Rox doing? I did not hear back from you. Please let me know if I can answer anything else and if this was helpful.
