Is the kitten that is not doing well the runt of the litter?

Have you tried offering wet food?

Ask Your Own Cat Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
I believe the kitty is the runt .. Yes I have offered wet food ... I've given a small baby spoon of water repeatedly and also went to the pet store and got pumpkin and had kitty eat off my finger with her other food
She ate a little bit that way
Cat Veterinarian: Dr. Meghan Denney, Cat Veterinarian replied 7 months ago

Hmmm. I am worried that this may be the beginings of an infection or some internal problem like feline infectious peritonitis or a congenital issue.

Any respiratory symptoms?

Will she allow you to take her temperature?

Ask Your Own Cat Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
i thought she frlt a bit warm earlier but her paws and nose feel cool to the touch no respitory symptoms yet
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
I believe she had had some diarrhea
Cat Veterinarian: Dr. Meghan Denney, Cat Veterinarian replied 7 months ago

Keeping her hydrated is really important, but we may need to get her examined and some fluids

Do you have any pedialyte or chicken broth at home we can syringe down her?

Has she been checked for intestinal parasites ?

Ask Your Own Cat Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
Ok that's what I'm doing she seemed better this evening than this afternoon
Cat Veterinarian: Dr. Meghan Denney, Cat Veterinarian replied 7 months ago

Do you have a regular veterinarian who can check her tomorrow?

Ask Your Own Cat Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
I do have chicken broth and I can go get pedialite
Cat Veterinarian: Dr. Meghan Denney, Cat Veterinarian replied 7 months ago

She may just need some probiotics and a de-womer, but we need to make sure this is not something else.

One other question. Has the mother cat been tested for feline aids or feline leukemia ?

Ask Your Own Cat Veterinary Question
Cat Veterinarian: Dr. Meghan Denney, Cat Veterinarian replied 7 months ago

If she has not been tested and has one of these diseases she could have passed it on to her kittens and that may be the cause of symptoms as well

Ask Your Own Cat Veterinary Question
Cat Veterinarian: Dr. Meghan Denney, Cat Veterinarian replied 7 months ago

Warm up the chicken broth and see if she will take some on her own. Its good for restoring electrolytes

Ask Your Own Cat Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
No her momma is getting ready to go get fixed nextmonth as well as all the kittens and we're getting checked
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
If things do not look better on the morning I will take her to the vet
Cat Veterinarian: Dr. Meghan Denney, Cat Veterinarian replied 7 months ago

That is a good plan. Get as many fluids down her as you can that she will willingly take then let her rest.
