Customer Question
Hi! I have been...

Hi! I have been keeping an eye on my 13 year old cat (first born child) since we moved back in late July, as I have been mostly about his reaction about the move. That being said we have only moved 400 yards down the road but we were in the previous home for 6 years. Lately he has seemed lethargic and sleeping in unusual places in the house, and this evening I noticed lots of little tiny black specks on the sheets of my son's bed, which is where he has been sleeping.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. Could be a lot of things that cause lethargy. The Expert will know how to help your son's cat. What is the cat's name?

Bean ;) Actually my cat not my son's ;" first born child

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about your son's cat?

Not really... he has been eating quite a lot but our suspicion was that he may have been fed by quite a number of other households in our old house... and not so much here.

Hi. My name is***** Thank you for your question about Bean! Love that name for a cat. If you look at his skin / below the fur, do you see lots of black specs there? If they are there, put some in a damp white Kleenex and smash / drag it. Does it leave a rust like stain?

He is a black cat so makes it a little more difficult... that being said I have had a look around his groin area etc and haven't been able to identify much of anything. All looks pretty clean. But the white sheets tell a different story!
Cat Veterinarian: Dr. Bruce, Veterinarian replied 7 months ago
With the black specs on the white sheet; the suspicion is very high that this is flea dirt. If you put some of that on a damp Kleenex and drag / smash it, does it leave the rust streak?
