My cat was diagnosed...

My cat was diagnosed with acute kidney failure today. This came on quite sudden. We can't afford the suggested IV therapy and I'm hoping to find an alternative. We aren't sure of the cause. He is 10 and an indoor cat.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. What seems to be the problem with your cat?

He is drinking and urinating but his eyes stay dilated

Veterinarian's Assistant: Where does your cat seem to hurt?

Kidneys

Veterinarian's Assistant: OK. What is the cat's name?

Friday

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Friday?

He used to be diabetic but as of a few months ago he returned to normal

I apologize I didn't see this response. Yes I am available(###) ###-#### It's 11:34 pm eastern time now. Or tomorrow. Honestly I'm not sure if tomorrow will be too late. He didn't eat today. His eyes aren't dilated as they have been. He's using litter box and urine wise nothing extreme (not an excess amount) and doesn't seem to strain. He seems weak and from what I read about not eating I'm concerned this will make him suffer. He's not meowing (he never really did) but I notice he's not sleeping much either. I'm not sure if this is because he hasn't moved much.
