It sounds like you may be describing the release of her anal glands.

All dogs and cats have anal glands - small glands just inside the anus that release a scent marking oil. This is usually released when they defecate, but can also be released when they are excited, frightened, playing, etc.

It is usually a brown liquid and has a peculiar, foul, fishy or metallic odor.

It is a normal gland but can be unpleasant when released unexpectedly. Mici likely grooms herself shortly after the release of these glands to clean herself up. If you ever see that she's released he glands, you can also wipe her rear with a hypoallergenic baby wipe to clean off the discharge and decrease the odor released.
