Customer Question
Our 8 year female...

Our 8 year female cat has recently become very sensitive to the touch on the back half of her body.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. What is the cat's name?

Hera! She is still eating well and sleeping ok.

Veterinarian's Assistant: Could be a lot of things that cause lethargy. The Expert will know how to help Hera. Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Hera?

She is overweight and has two brothers that get her a little exercise. She hasn't had a sick day that we can remember.

I hope I can help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your Hera's problem, and want to help.

Are there any changes to the hair in this area, or any redness or scabs that you can see or feel?

No, we don't see anything.
She just doesn't like being touched or petted by her tail.
In the past she would love to be stroked back there.
She is overweight and has tried to jump up on things she can not do anymore, maybe she landed on her tail or backside.
It does seem she is licking her tail more, or I could be imagining it.
Is there a skin disease that can affect sensitivity?
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
We think it is best just to take her t the Vet.
Thanks anyways
