I have a 13 year old cat. All of a sudden, she doesn't use the litter box. She has been going on the kitchen floor.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. What is the cat's name?

Sneakers.

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Sneakers?

She did have some problems in September. She was on antibiocs and flea medicine.

At 13 years old, more often than not this signifies a medical issue. Possibilities include diabetes, kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, urinary tract infection, bladder stones, bladder cancer, idiopathic cystitis, and other possibilities.

I would suggest a physical examination with your local veterinarian along with pursuing a urinalysis and routine senior bloodwork monitoring, which should include a blood count, a serum chemistry panel, and thyroid evaluation.

Depending on the physical examination and results of some routine senior labwork monitoring, a diagnosis may be evident and treatment suggestions might be able to be made, or other diagnostics may be suggested, such as a urine culture, or abdominal ultrasound, or other tests may be offered.

Less likely, it could be behavioral, but you should assess for an underlying medical cause as above as it is common at 13 years old for these types of issues to present in this way.
