Wow a lot! She almost died last Wednesday from anemia. She had fleas bad and I had no idea. She's an indoor cat. I've got that mostly under control but she did lose 14 lbs. she was 30lbs. She was on a/d food for a day to get her to eat and build her strength and it worked. I switched her to wet food for a few days after the a/d was gone. She ate fine. I ran out a few days ago so I made her dry food wet with chicken broth and she ate a few times but now she won't eat that. This morning I gave her a packet of albacore tune in olive oil she ate that. I just got home from work and she now has a patch of missing hair but it looks shaved to the skin - I'm baffled at the patch. What can that be? I'm broke and exhausted from her!

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. The Expert will know if the cat will be able to digest that. What is the cat's name and age?

Hello,

I am Dr. Snow, and I can try to help you. Has she eaten any dinner? My guess would be that the patch of skin where she is missing hair is due to her previous flea problem. Sometimes it takes a few days for it to show up, but the fleas can cause a lot of itching and inflammation so sometimes cats will focus on a spot and lick until the hair comes off. Usually they don't do it in front of owners!

The main concern here, I think, is making sure she is eating enough!
