Cat with presumed abscess from a bite or scratch from housemate cat. Vet had her on clindamycin , it has gotten progressively scabbed over past three days. Now on clavamox as well. Trying not to worry. She does lick it. Tender to touch.

Kathryn, I would remove that scab and thoroughly irrigate the wound and leave it open to drain. I can see pus at the margins of the scab and I don't like seeing the pallor of the skin which suggests avascular necrosis is occurring. Antibiotics can't penetrate well into pus. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
