I have a new kitten, adopted since Sunday. She ate well on Sunday, but now is not interested in eating. I will be bringing her to my vet tomorrow, but I am very bothered!

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. The Expert will know if the kitten will be able to digest that. What is the kitten's name?

Shari

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Shari?

She was fostered, spayed, tested negative for fiv and leukemia. Her birthday was on May 9th.

Hello. My name is***** and I am a veterinarian that can answer your question. I am sorry to hear that your new kitten is not eating very well. I understand Shari ate well on Sunday, but is not eating today. How was her appetite Monday - Wednesday? Any signs of vomiting or hair balls? Any nasal congestion that you have observed? I will be standing by.

Customer reply replied 11 months ago
Her appetite decreased day by day. No vomiting, but, she constantly cleans. She coughed a few times on Monday, but has not coughed since. By cough, it sounds almost like a hairball cough:not congestion.
Cat Veterinarian: Scott Perry, Cat Veterinarian replied 11 months ago

Thank you. When you say clean, is she grooming herself anywhere specifically, or is it a constant generalized grooming behavior?
