Customer Question
Felix is an ageing...

Felix is an ageing cat and he is drooling from the mouth. He previously had back teeth removed to increase his life span, but I do not know if the dribbling is a result of the dental treatment or he now has dental disease.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'm sorry to hear that. The Expert will know what to do with the drooling. What is the cat's name and age?

Felix - he is 12 years old

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Felix?

It is very hard for vets to handle Felix because he has been traumatised through being scruffed. He would probably have to be sedated for any dental examination to be carried out. Would this be possible?

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today.

How long has he been showing signs?

Any appetite loss, preference for soft foods, weight loss or vomiting?

Are his gums pink or white/pale? Moist or sticky?

If you press on his belly, any tensing, tenderness, discomfort, or pain?

Could he have eaten or chewed on anything harmful (ie bones, plants, chemicals, human meds, etc)?
