Christopher is a 21 y.o. tabby who last week was vomiting his food
. Now he's not eating, & his anal orifice is inflamed. I'm pretty sure he's fecally impacted.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully it didn't make a mess. Did the tabby eat anything unusual?
Customer: Yes. I've cleaned that up. He's on the Hill's renal food d/t compromised kidney
function. We feed him & our 10yo short-haired black cat separately since the 10yo has no health issues.I'm unaware of the impacted cat's having eaten anything unusual.
JA: What is the tabby's name?
Customer: Christopher. Sorry for the delay. I'm an RN. Therefore, I'd like to help him myself if I can. I purchased red clover to place on our impacted dog's anal glands after application of a warm compress. Would this possibly work for the cat?
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Christopher?
Customer: Christopher has a mild heart murmur & he's prescribed 2.5mg Benazepril daily. I give him 0.5 teaspoons Renal-K BID, & 0.5 scoops Epakitin in his food.
