Can you provide me with some additional information so that I can better advise you?

How long has Miles been lethargic?

Is he eating and drinking?

Any vomiting or diarrhea ?

Is he indoor only, or indoor outdoor, or outdoor only?

Any changes in diet?

Two days can mean there is something really wrong internally from an issue with his kidneys to an issue with liver, pancreas or gall bladder.

The not drinking is really worrisome because he is most likely dehydrating.

It could also be an infection which is starting rear its head.

There could also be some internal abdominal pain which could be why he is acting scared.

I am going to recommend since this has been going on 2 days without improvement that we get him an appointment with his regular veterinarian because if we allow this condition to continue he can worsen and it will be more expensive to treat,

We need to get him examined and get some diagnostics, like blood work done, to start figuring out what the issue is with Miles.

I do not want to recommend waiting any longer because often conditions will worsen and become way more difficult to treat the longer they go on.

In the meantime before his appointment try to get him to drink some water by mixing in some chicken broth and water in a bowl and warming it up to Luke warm. 1 cup broth to 1/2 cup water. You can also see if he will accept some chicken baby food mixed into his food for the water content. We need to get his hydration levels up.

Once we get him examined and some diagnostics done we can get a better idea about what is causing these symptoms and start treatment.

Good luck with Miles. Try to get him an appointment as soon as you can. If this is something like liver or kidney issues the longer it goes on unchecked the worse things can get and the more difficult and expensive to treat.

If this was helpful I would be most appreciative if you could take the time to rate my assistance so the site will credit me with helping you.

Without a rating (the stars at the top) the site will not compensate me for helping you.

I am also here for additional questions you may have just reach out to me here and I will be more than happy to assist you.

Kind regards,

Dr. Meghan Denney
