He recently switched to an all wet food diet after stopping

Customer Question

He recently switched to an all wet food diet after stopping eating dry food. He has lost a lot of weight and drinks a lot of water. He seems really constipated. His poops are huge and he cries when they come out.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. The noise must be worrying. I'll connect you to the Veterinarian. What is the cat's name and age?
Customer: Mr. Cat around 15-16 we got him 7 years ago.
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Mr.?
Customer: He is now happy and sleeping in front of the fireplace. After pooping, peeing and puking all over.

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help.

How long has he been showing signs?

Does he have a good appetite for the wet food or does he eat little/struggle?

Is he keeping any food/water down?

Is his urine quite clear/watery or large volumes?

Are his gums pink or white/pale? Moist or sticky?
