Can you read what I was trying to type? I picked up the cat

Customer Question

Can you read what I was trying to type?
JA: I'll do all I can to help. What is the matter with the cat?
Customer: I picked up the cat from boarding this morning. He was hungry at 8:00 AM, but hasn't eaten since. He just threw up either bile or saliva (half and hour after drinking a lot of water), which appeared to be reddish or brown. I took apart the water fountain earlier to clean it, and the pump appeared corroded or something. I'm wondering if he drank from it; if he could have problems with acid intake or something, and how I can counter it.
JA: The Veterinarian will know if the cat will be able to digest that. What is the cat's name and age?
Customer: Topaz age fourteen.
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Topaz?
Customer: He slept all day since about 8:30-9:00 AM.

So if you just picked him up from boarding he may be stressed. Cats often vomit when they are stressed.

I would think boarding would be stressful for him.

To reduce stomach acid you can give 1/4 of a 10mg Pepcid aC tablet every 12 hours.

You can put it in a treat. If he is not eating you can crush it and give it with water in a syringe or eye dropper.

If he does not eat for 24 hours or drink for 12 hours he should see the vet.

If you see bright red blood in his vomit and there are more than a few drops then she should see the vet as well.
