Customer Question

I think my cat is dying. My cat is about 14 years old. His appetite had steadily declined for about 3 months. My general vet upon a tooth cleaning removed 7 teeth and said there was either an infection or a tumor in his lower jaw. He's weak, they told me to confirm I should take him to a specialist and they would biopsy. It's far from me and the last time I took him far he went into shock. I don't know what to do.

Hello, JACustomer. I have been a Veterinary Nurse for over 15 years and would be happy to help you today. I'm reviewing your question right now.

I apologize for the delay, JA Customer. Overnights tend to be staffed more lightly than are daytime hours.

Did they perform any x-rays of his jaw?

What food are you feeding him currently? Canned? Kibble?

Did they perform any bloodwork at this visit? If so, how did it turn out?

What makes you believe that he is dying? Any symptoms aside from the decline in eating?

Can you describe the shocky symptoms from his last long trip?
