How much does your cat weigh?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
8 or 9 lbs
Expert:  Katie replied 9 months ago.

That seems like around 5 mg/kg, this is likely more than what he needs. However, doses have been given that are higher than this. Your kitty will likely be ok and may urinate more tonight. Please make sure that he has plenty of water available tonight. If any symptoms arise, it would be wise to check his kidney values with bloodwork in the morning.

What condition is he being treated for?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Fluid in his lungs

Just wanted to make sure that wasnt an overdose
Expert:  Katie replied 9 months ago.

Ok, good. Tonight you will likely see more urination, especially in the next couple hours. It is high dose, but would be unlikely to see any side effects. This medication is best used at lowest possible doses, but can be increased if the pet is not responding to treatment. Your kitty should be fine, but if you see any abnormal symptoms such as not eating, respiratory distress, no urination or anything else abnormal, please have him seen.
