Customer Question

My cat has a uti. Has been peeing in the bathtub drain (of all places). The urine is dark redish is color. I had given him some amoxycylinsome time ago but I didn't have enough to fully treat him and the symptoms have returned. I don't have the money to take him to the vet as my husband has pancreatic cancer and dealing with those medical bills is exhausting our finances. I have some 500mg Cipro tablets from the dentist from earlier in the summer. I see I can use that but am wondering if breaking these into 8th's is sufficient in dosing him twice a day with one piece per dose.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. What is the cat's name and age?
Customer: Baxter is a bout 6 maybe. Found him in the dumpster.
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Baxter?
Customer: He is a neutered male

To confirm, these are 500mg Ciprofloxacin tablets, correct?

How much does he weigh, approximately?
