Customer Question

My 8yr old tort cat was fine until day before yesterday, ate some cooked salmon(a little), later that night started vomiting into the am (clear foam by then ), did this until eve yesterday, lethargic all day yesterday and today. Very concerned. Cat doesn't seem to eat or drink since onset of vomiting.
Very scared she may be dying.
I have kidney desease and diabetes( home bound ) .Have no way to get her to vet, no money.

Hello. I'm sorry to hear about your cat.

I would also be concerned about her. 2-3 days of vomiting and decreased appetite is worrisome. I would definitely want bloodwork to see if this is kidney disease, diabetes, liver disease or a foreign body obstruction.

I understand that you can't get her to a vet. At home, you can try an over the counter anti-nausea med. You can give Pepcid (Famotidine) 5 mg 1-2 times daily. You can also give Meclizine (Antivert) 12.5 mg once daily.

I would also try to syringe some puree food and pedialyte to get nutrients and fluids in her.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
