My adopted 12 week old kitten needs front limb amputation

Customer Question

My adopted 12 week old kitten needs front limb amputation because of brachial plexus avulsion. My vet seems defensive and reluctant to discuss amputation procedure with me. I have many questions, and this was not welcomed but met with much resistance. For instance I am not sure about amputating scapula w front leg or leaving scapula in place. I was told scapula always removed w this procedure. What is benefit or detriment of leaving scapula in place vs. removal?

Can you give me some history on Sam? What happened to this little one?
