Customer Question

I have 2 immune system compromised cats, effects of panleukepenia when they were kittens. One is prone to seizures, and the other to urinary blockages (stones). I am wondering if its safe to use the termite treatment "altriset' which has active ingredient Chlorantraniliprole around my house? My one cat is prone to digging.

There are no toxicology studies involving chlroantraniliprole in cats but 52- and 90-day feeding trials in dogs at egregious doses far in excess of what a cat could ingest revealed no adverse effects. I would be more comfortable knowing that the termite control involved non toxic freezing, heating, or borates - all of which should be discussed with a professional fumigator.
