Customer Question

My house cat escaped and was out of the house, in a rural area, for 7 days. She returned 2 weeks ago. Dirtier than heck, with a sticker in her paw, weak with hunger, but otherwise, okay. The temps she'd been in were 20 -30 overnight; 60s daytime.
Today she began vomiting. It's persisted, although slowed now, all day. Her mood and behavior are normal. She has no fever.
Antifreeze poisoning? She got in a fight with something rabid? She ate plastic?

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help.

Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner, but can you tell me:

Has she been passing urine or shown any wobbliness?

Is she up to date on her rabies vaccinations?

Is she trying to eat larger volumes of food?

Can she keep water down?

Are her gums pink or pale/white? Moist or sticky?

If you press on her belly, does she have any discomfort, tenderness, or tensing?
