I am sorry to hear you are worried about Mittens. My name is Rebecca. I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help.

I would be worried if this were my own cat. Blood in the urine can be from infection, and if the infection goes up into the kidneys she could get really sick. Blood can also indicate crystals or stones in the bladder.

If she were my own cat or my patient, I would palpate her bladder; sometimes (with practice and experience) you can feel stones in the bladder. I would do a urinalysis to look for infection or small crystals in the urine.

She may need antibiotics. If she has a stone, a special diet might dissolve it.

Let me know what other questions you have about Mittens. Rebecca
