Can you give a cat keopectate

Yes, the Kaopectate product that contains bismuth subsalicylate can be dosed at 0.125-0.5 mL/lb every 6-12 hours. A 10 lb cat, then, could be given up to 1 measuring teaspoon every 6-12 hours. Extreme diarrhea in a 15 year old, however, isn't likely to be helped appreciably by bismuth subsalicylate which shouldn't be given for more than few days in any event. Cats don't tolerate salicylates well. At Oreo's age severe diarrhea often indicates severe inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and/or gastrointestinal lymphoma.
