I am sorry you are worried about rabies.. My name is Rebecca. I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help.

Rabies develops anywhere from a few weeks to 6 months after the cat was bitten by a rabid animal. The symptoms are very variable, different in each cat, but involve the nervous system. You can see blindness, paralysis, the cat may act unusually quiet and withdrawn but others will be vicious and biting. Usually the cat is not eating or drinking. I have seen two rabid cats: one was dragging the back legs and the other was nearly comatose.

Why do you ask? Is your cat sick?
