Cats of Berry's age who are polyphagic (increased hunger) yet skinny are either hyperthyroid or diabetic in the great majority of cases. Hyperthryoidism is treatable with drugs, radiation therapy, or surgery. Diabetic cats are insulin dependent in most cases and so you'd be giving Berry injections of insulin twice daily if she were diabetic. Polydipsia (increased thirst) is seen in all diabetics but only 35% of hyperthyroid cats.
