Hello there. I am sorry to hear about Topaz. I am happy to help you this evening. The potassium if given as prescribed from your vet is appropriate and should not have any negative side effects. There are dangers if to much potassium is given so make sure to follow directions as prescribed. To high of dose can cause lethargy, vomiting, shaking, twitching or even seizures. But again an appropriate dose prescribed by your veterinarian will not have any bad results. The most common supplementation type in cats is orally.

I hope this helps and I hope this makes sense. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions or concerns. I would be happy to help. Please do not forget to rate my response so I receive credit for my time. Thank you!
