Customer Question

our 14 yr cat has been diagnosed with lymphoma last mo and now has not eaten for 9 days. we have tried everything to entice her with tidbits of tuna, checken and other speciality treats to absolutely no avail. However if it was not for her weight loss (from 12.4 lbs to 10 lbs) she is acting normal in every other instance.
We are prepared to put her to sleep if we knew she is suffering.
Question - how can we tell if she is suffering or in pain? and How much would she have to loose before it is time to make this hard decision ?

Hello, this is Dr. Jess. I am so sorry to hear about your problems with Eve. Having a pet with cancer is such a tough situation. Have you tried an appetite stimulant yet? There is a pill called Mirtazapine that your vet can prescribe. The pills are very small (usually you are just givine 1/4 of a small pill), so aren't too tough to give. Is she drinking water still? Is she able to walk around and use the litterbox?
